  A simple device for converting a single supply to a bipolar supply, for example, when it is not possible to use an appropriate transformer with a center tap. Such a case may occur, for example, when powering an amplifier or other devices.

General Description:

  Unlike a simple resistor divider, the circuit allows you to get a stable identical voltage at the output, equal to half the input.
  The principle of operation of the converter is similar to the operation of a compensation voltage regulator. The U1A chip compares the reference voltage supplied to the non-inverting input from the resistive divider R1-R2 with the voltage supplied to the inverting input from the output of the device. In accordance with this, the output signal is adjusted, which regulates the enable/disable of the output transistors. The maximum input voltage is limited by the supply voltage of the op-amp.

• Output transistors must be mounted on a heatsink
